LinkinLegal.com Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 12, 2026 | Last updated: October 3, 2026

1. Introduction

LinkinLegal.com ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of our platform.

We comply with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use our platform, and information from third parties where applicable.

Information you provide directly:

  • Full name, email address, phone number, and location when you register an account.
  • Content you upload or create in LinkinLegal, such as documents and files, the questions you ask Alaya, contract drafts, translations, company records, and compliance information.
  • Information about other people that you add, such as the directors and shareholders in company records, the signers of a document, the participants in a meeting, or the names you screen against sanctions and PEP lists. You are responsible for having the right to share it with us.
  • Listing details, if you manage a law firm's listing in our directory, such as the firm's offices, practice areas, and its lawyers' profiles.
  • Communications you send us, including support requests, feedback, and messages sent through our contact form.
  • Payment information processed through our secure third-party payment providers (we do not store full card details).

Information from features you choose to use:

  • Connected accounts: if you connect Google Drive or OneDrive, we access the files and folders you choose to import. If you connect Outlook, we access your mail, calendar, and contacts to answer your questions and draft emails and events for you to approve.
  • Meetings: if you use the meeting notetaker, it records the meeting's audio to produce a transcript and a record of attendance. When someone confirms who a speaker was, we keep a voiceprint, a numerical representation of that person's voice, so the notetaker can recognise them in later meetings of the same company. We record who authorised each voiceprint, and you can delete one at any time.
  • E-signatures: when someone views or signs a document, we record the time, their IP address, and their browser as part of the document's audit trail.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information including IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
  • Usage data such as pages visited, time spent on the platform, links clicked, and search queries.
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 9 below.

Information from third parties:

  • If you register or log in using a third-party service such as Google, we may receive basic profile information from that service.
  • Publicly available information about lawyers and law firms, such as names, titles, practice areas, admissions, and contact details published on firms' websites, which we use to build our directory.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and provide our services.
  • To publish our directory of lawyers and law firms, and to let firms keep their listings up to date.
  • To process payments and send transaction-related communications.
  • To send service updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
  • To respond to your inquiries, comments, and support requests.
  • To send promotional communications, where you have opted in to receive them.
  • To monitor and analyse usage trends to improve our platform and user experience.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security breaches, and violations of our Terms and Conditions.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our legal rights.

Our AI features use the documents, questions and other content you give them only to produce the answers, drafts, translations and reviews you ask for; to do this, the content involved is processed by the AI model providers we use. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where applicable under UAE data protection law, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent; the performance of a contract with you; compliance with a legal obligation; and our legitimate interests, provided these do not override your rights and freedoms.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With people you choose:

When you share a file, invite colleagues to a workspace, send a document for signature, or invite people to a meeting, the content and details you choose are shared with them.

In the directory:

Directory listings are public: the details in a lawyer's or law firm's listing can be seen by anyone who visits the directory. If you are listed and want your listing corrected or removed, email us at office@linkinlegal.com.

With service providers:

We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our platform, including payment processors, hosting providers, analytics services, and email communications providers. These parties are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

For legal compliance:

We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LinkinLegal, our users, or others.

Business transfers:

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via email or a prominent notice on our platform.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

7. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at office@linkinlegal.com.

8. International data transfers

LinkinLegal operates from Dubai, UAE. If you are accessing our platform from outside the UAE, your information may be transferred to and processed in the UAE or other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that your information remains adequately protected.
