What does "unlimited, fair use" mean?
AI features like Alaya Chat and the Word Add-in are unlimited on every subscription plan — use them as much as your work needs. A fair-use threshold sits far above normal professional use, so it only catches automated or scripted activity.
What happens if I reach the fair-use threshold?
That AI feature pauses until your billing cycle resets. Everything else on your plan keeps working, and nothing is ever charged automatically.
Do purchased top-ups expire?
Top-ups apply to Day and Week passes only, which include a fixed number of AI credits. Unused purchased credits don't expire while your pass is active. Subscription plans need no top-ups — their AI usage is unlimited under fair use.
How do plan upgrades work?
Upgrades take effect immediately. You receive a credit for the unused portion of your current plan — measured by both time remaining and allowances consumed — and you see the exact amount before you confirm.
How do downgrades work?
Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. You keep everything you've paid for until then, and you can cancel the change anytime before it happens. Plans with a commitment period can switch once the commitment ends.
How does cancellation work?
You can cancel anytime from your billing portal. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
