She qualified in 1980, co‑founded the practice with Judith Goodman in 1985, served as a Recorder from 2007 to 2019 and has received awards including UNICEF Child Rights Lawyer of the Year (2001), Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (Family) (2005) and the Cornwell Award (2014).
