Laura Taaka is an associate in the Banking and Finance Team at MMAKS Advocates in Uganda. She advises on cross-border financings from a Ugandan law perspective (acting for lenders including FMO, Standard Bank of South Africa and Oddo BHF), regulatory matters including anti‑money laundering and capital markets law, and acts for local banks and private equity funds on security perfection, conveyancing and contract review across sectors such as energy, mining, telecoms, infrastructure and fintech.
