Carmen Tibúrcio is a Partner at BFBM – Barroso Fontelles, Barcellos, Mendonça & Associados in Brazil, specializing in international litigation, private international law and arbitration; she has served as sole arbitrator, chair and co-arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations and was appointed as a prospective arbitrator to the Mercosur and Mercosur‑Bolivia Tribunal by the Brazilian government. She is a Full Professor of Law at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), the author of numerous books and articles, and holds an LLB from Rio de Janeiro State University and an LLM and PhD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
