Arnoldo Wald

Founding partner of Wald, Antunes, Vita e Blattner Advogados, Arnoldo Wald is a veteran Brazilian lawyer, professor, author and legal expert with an almost 70-year career, widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most influential lawyers and among the most cited in rulings by the country’s high courts. He was a pioneer in the introduction of arbitration in Brazil, has written multiple books and hundreds of articles on civil, commercial, banking, administrative and arbitration law, and has held senior public positions including Rio de Janeiro State General Prosecutor and President of the Brazilian Securities & Exchange Commission (CVM).
