Partner at Vanguard Lawyers Tokyo focusing on labour and employment and dispute resolution and investigations. Admitted in Japan in 1975, he has practised with Tokyo Law Office (1975–1993), was partner at Takahashi & Okada (1993–1999) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (1999–2017), and has been Partner at Vanguard Lawyers Tokyo since 2017; he is a lecturer at Hitotsubashi University School of Law and a member of the Dai-ni Tokyo Bar Association.
