In Energy & Resource Management, advising Boom Power on a 400MW solar farm in East Yorkshire, East Sussex Waste Partnership on a multimillion pound contract extension with Biffa, Hackney Council on its pioneering solar panel project and the Crown Commercial Service on its scheme to simplify the procurement of electric vehicle infrastructure for local authorities. Central & Local Government led on projects including a £119m investment in education and training for Cardiff and Vale College and Welsh Government, and were successful in a landmark High Court appeal for The Ramblers to protect public right of way. Housing advised Platform Housing Group on its annual Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) Programme, which has been doubled to £2 billion to provide future funding for sustainability initiatives. We also supported housing provider VIVID on a new £100 million facility agreement with HSBC. Bevan Brittan’s market-leading health specialists worked on a wide range of deals including a trio of acquisitions for Mysa Care, investment manager Downing’s first acquisitions in the neuro-rehabilitation care home sector and a new major care village project in Surrey on behalf of CHD Living. Additionally the business provided pro bono advice to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine on a landmark anonymity ruling, were reappointed to the Financial Conduct Authority’s Legal Services Framework, acted for Canal and River Trust on a multimillion pound land sale, and secured a place on University of Essex’s legal services framework. - Responsible Business Increased investment in Responsible Business has led to the appointments of a Board Lead, Head of Responsible Business and Environmental Sustainability Manager. Andrew Shaw
Andrew Shaw is a partner in the firm’s Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects (IERP) team, and has more than 20 years’ experience in energy law. He advises major players throughout the international energy sector on energy transition matters (e.g. hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, CCUS and DAC), renewables (e.g. wind, solar, BESS and geothermal), petrochemicals, and conventional oil, gas and LNG projects and transactions. Andrew is deeply experienced in commercial contracts across the energy value chain, advising on engineering, design, supply, transportation, installation, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning agreements, as well as technology licensing and commodity sale and purchase agreements (including feedstock and offtake), and advises many international companies on strategy in this area. Andrew has worked on such matters across Europe, North America, Latin America, the C.I.S, Africa, the Middle East, China, South and Southeast Asia, Australia and the Arctic. · Energy

Faisal specialises in corporate and commercial law and advises a wide range of private, public and third sector organisations on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and collaborations, commercial contracts and banking and finance law. Faisal’s main industry focus is the health and social care sector. Within that sector, he specialises in the sale and purchase of health and social care businesses, in particular, dental practices and care homes. Faisal acts for private equity and venture capital backed businesses, practitioners (dentists and GPs), NHS bodies, social enterprises and charities and a variety of private limited companies. Faisal provides specialist advice to dentists and dental corporates on the sale and purchase of dental practices, practice incorporations, issues involving NHS dental contracts and issues relating to associate agreements. Faisal is also highly experienced in advising shareholders on shareholder exits, in particular, exits involving sales to large corporate groups.
