Mahua Roy Chowdhury is the founding partner of Royzz & Co. Mahua is a qualified advocate and a registered patent attorney with more than 22 years of experience. Prior to diversifying to IP, she has practiced at the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India and has initiated several landmark Public Interest Litigations against the Indian Army, Delhi Police and Delhi Municpal Commission. She also represented the Faculty of Law, Delhi University before the High Court and District Courts. Mahua has successfully litigatied matter related to commercial disputes, insolvency, copyright, patents and trade mark infrringement in various courts in India. She advises various multinational IT clients on complex innovative software tecchnology and resolved several disputes regarding the same. Other than being skilled and experienced in drafting and prosecuting patents, she also has hands-on experience in anti-counterfeiting actions and has coordinated more than 450 IP enforcement raids all over India with the help of police and investgation agencies. She has successfully sought permanent injunctions against prime counterfeiters. She represents many Indian and international clients, premier engineering institutes and universities. She likes to encourage individual scientists and techno-based start-up companies. She has also been a part of many cross-border licensing and technology transfer agreements and resolved several disputes. Mahua has been a speaker/moderator at several conferences and workshops and has conducted lectures related to general intellectual property, IP management, IP audit and valuation, deisgns and copyrights, TM and Adwords at International Trademark Association (INTA), Law Faculty Delhi University, IIT Mumbai, Faculty of Management Studies of IP University and several premier institutes and forums.
