Raphaël Gauvain is a partner in the Ethics, Investigations and Defence practice at Stephenson Harwood in Paris. Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2001, he is a former member of the French parliament (2017-2022). His practice focuses on litigation, primarily criminal defense, internal investigations, and compliance. He is also active in public affairs. During his parliamentary tenure, he spearheaded the French bill on Trade Secret protection (2018), contributed to a report on extraterritorial legislation (2019), an information report on the effectiveness of the Sapin II Law (2021), and bills on whistleblowers and strengthening the French anti-corruption system. He has insider experience regarding international organizations' assessments of anti-corruption and anti-money laundering plans. He was First Secretary of the Conference in 2005 and founded and managed a French law firm before his parliamentary mandate.
