Mathew Newman co-leads Ogier's Dispute Resolution team in Guernsey and is global head of the firm's multi-disciplinary Restructuring and Insolvency practice. His practice focuses on commercial and financial dispute resolution, contentious insolvency and restructuring, regulatory matters, schemes of arrangement, shareholder disputes, and investment scheme disputes. He also handles general commercial disputes involving financial services, trusts, and construction. He regularly appears as an advocate in the Royal Court of Guernsey for complex commercial, trusts, and insolvency cases, including fraud and asset tracing. He has experience in civil cases involving breach of directors' duties, professional negligence, and contentious regulatory cases related to proceeds of crime, sanctions, and anti-money laundering. He is also involved in litigation concerning aircraft leasing in insolvency and securing shipping vessels worldwide.
