José Estandía has more than 25 years’ experience leading M&A and project finance transactions in Mexico’s energy sector, including clients focused on power, renewable energy, natural gas, and oil terminals. He has extensive experience with renewable projects, representing participants in the negotiation and implementation of PPAs, EPCs, and O&Ms. José counsels oil companies regarding commercialization of gasoline and diesel, and assists clients in developing, financing, and operating energy projects under both the legacy and post-2013 Energy Reform frameworks. He advises on regulatory instruments, grid fees, and policies issued by SENER, CRE, and CENACE, and on the protection of rights related to the new regulatory instruments and the Mexican Electrical Industry Law amendments.
