Kyosuke Katahira is Of Counsel in the Tax department at Jones Day in Japan. He has over 15 years of experience advising multinational enterprises on international tax issues related to cross-border transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, distribution and licensing agreements. He advises foreign corporate clients on Japanese domestic tax matters and treaty issues for inbound investments, and supports foreign funds on real estate inbound investment structures. For Japanese corporations, he provides guidance on outbound transactions involving CFC rules and corporate reorganization taxation. He also represents clients in tax administrative proceedings and prepares position papers. He has worked in Jones Day's Washington and New York offices, giving him strong expertise in U.S. tax matters.
