Represents financial institutions, energy and commodity companies, and trade associations in transactional, regulatory, and risk management matters, with a focus on energy products and the development and operation of energy projects. Advises clients on structuring, analyzing, and negotiating offtake, trading, hedging transactions, collateral arrangements for electricity, environmental attributes, carbon credits, natural gas, crude oil, and other commodities. Negotiates key energy project contracts including energy management, O&M, EPC, interconnection, asset management, equipment supply, transportation service, and transmission use, as well as standardized agreements such as ISDAs, EEIs, and NAESBs. Guides clients on regulatory compliance and documentation for structured commodity and derivatives transactions, including compliance with the Dodd-Frank Act and DOE regulations governing natural gas and electricity exports and imports. Serves on the contract drafting committee for the Edison Electric Institute.
