About

Tom Bond is the Managing Shareholder of the Austin office of Greenberg Traurig and co-chair of the firm's Government Law & Policy and Insurance Regulatory & Transactions practice groups. He focuses on insurance and regulatory law in Texas and nationally, representing insurance holding companies, life/health/property liability companies, trade associations, reinsurers, HMOs, corporate insurance agencies, commercial insureds, and state insurance regulators. He has managed strategic initiatives in workers compensation, health insurance, managed care, credit and specialty lines, broking, regulated transactions, and insurance regulation and taxation. He has been involved in rehabilitation/liquidation of troubled companies, hostile/negotiated acquisitions and mergers, regulatory approvals, investment decisions, and new coverage design. He served as outside counsel to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in establishing the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission. He is a frequent speaker on insurance, health care, and legislative policymaking, and advises publicly and privately held insurance enterprises.
