Ela Bali is a Partner in the Competition Law practice at JSA Advocates & Solicitors, with over 8 years of experience. She represents and advises clients across sectors on enforcement and merger control matters before the Competition Commission of India (CCI), National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), the Delhi and Bombay High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. Her work includes cartel and leniency cases, dawn raids, abuse of dominance, and competition compliance training. She has successfully defended global auto-component manufacturers and a leading paper manufacturer in price-fixing cartel cases. Currently, she advises a global seeds company, a cement manufacturer, a conveyor belt manufacturer, and leading debenture trustees on price-fixing cartels and vertical restraints. She also advised Nuziveedu Seeds in a case against Monsanto for abuse of dominance, and represents FabHotels before the NCLAT. On the merger control side, she advises on filing requirements and has obtained CCI approval for complex transactions, including advising ChemChina Corporation on its $44 billion acquisition of Syngenta AG.
