Partner and head of the Oil and Gas group at Fieldfisher with 23 years' experience advising oil and gas companies in the UK and internationally; he spent six years at Hess Corporation and was seconded to Shell, and joined Fieldfisher in November 2019 from Womble Bond Dickinson where he was head of the Energy sector and the Oil and Gas team. He has acted on major North Sea transactions including Serica Energy’s acquisition of interests in the Bruce, Keith and Rhum fields and Chrysaor E&P’s £2.7 billion acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ North Sea assets, and served as Chair of the IBA Oil and Gas Law Committee for two years (term expired 31 December 2020); he is now an officer of SEERIL and a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
