Thorsten Ihler is a Partner in Fieldfisher´s Hamburg office and advises on all issues of IT and Data Protection Law. A particular focus is on data protection advice for regulated industries such as financial services, the healthcare sector, telecommunications, online platforms and new technologies. He has extensive experience as an external Data Protection Officer and in providing ongoing compliance advice as well as project support and handling individual enquiries for US, Asian and European clients. He represents in proceedings with data protection supervisory authorities. His clients appreciate his pragmatic support when it comes to the implementation of the GDPR, sector-specific requirements, compliance programmes, international data transfers, cybersecurity, data protection incident reporting, the development of data-based products, employee data protection, direct marketing, data protection impact assessments and contract negotiations.
