She acts for banks, lenders, insolvency practitioners, individuals and businesses in relation to any situation requiring insolvency or restructuring advice. Sophie has helped to design a new product for debt collection agencies that can help to manage the risk of any adverse publicity, when looking to reverse any decisions taken to petition for a debtor’s bankruptcy and instigate possession proceedings for consumer debts. She has also helped to design a fixed fee product for providing advice to directors where their company is in financial distress or facing insolvency. In the summer of 2020 Sophie was the lead fee earner on a high profile and complex matter which involved the administration and sale of 5 companies, the solvent sale of 2 companies and the liquidation of 5 other companies within a group, including two foreign entities.Sophie is also building a name for herself in Leeds for non-contentious insolvency. · Irwin Mitchell
