Erin Sawyer
Erin is a partner in the Family Team, specialising in complex family finances; this includes pre and post-nuptial agreements, separation and divorce and cohabitation disputes between unmarried parties. Most of the cases Erin is involved in have an international element, and she has a particular interest in working with American ex-pats living in this jurisdiction, as one herself. As a result, Erin understands the complexities that internationally mobile families face, which can increase as a result of a relationship breakdown. With her strong academic background in corporate and commercial law, Erin is regularly asked to advise divorce matters that have contentious business elements, including partnership/shareholder disputes. Erin leads Irwin Mitchell’s Team of Excellence specialising in cohabitation disputes. She regularly represents clients in complex disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Erin provides specialist advice on professional negligence claims arising from complex family finances. · Irwin Mitchell
