Mala Sidebottom

Mala is a Partner and qualified medical doctor, specialising in helping clients who have suffered illness and injury as a result of substandard medical care. The clients she work for are individuals who have experienced injury due to medical negligence and many of the claims have left the client with a permanent disability. She has a particular interest in helping clients with neurological and birth injury claims. She also regularly works on cases involving delay in treating and diagnosing infectious diseases, inadequate consent for surgery and delay in diagnosing hearing loss. She has a successful track record of recovering substantial amounts of compensation on her clients’ behalf. Recent settlements include a multi-million pound settlement in a wrongful birth claim, £1m for a client with delay in diagnosis and treatment of herpes simplex encephalitis and £700,000 for a client who developed cauda equina syndrome following spinal surgery. She joined Moore Barlow in 2015. Previously, she worked in medical negligence for a London law firm for more than 10 years. Before training as a solicitor, she worked as a practising anaesthetist.
