Matthew is a Principal Associate based in our Liverpool office within the police claims team who specialises in defending actions against the police. Matthew represents a number of police forces, including the Metropolitan Police Service, British Transport Police and Merseyside Police, advising on employers' liability and public liability claims including actions for false imprisonment, assault, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in public office, negligence, workplace stress, and claims under the Human Rights Act and Equality Act. Matthew has a particular interest in data claims brought under the Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR, for misuse of private information and for breach of confidence.
