Sonia Lopez

Sonia was recognised as a Rising Star in the Legal 500 (2023), specialising in aviation litigation. She advises clients and handles multi-jurisdictional litigation in a broad spectrum of aviation and travel-related work (including complex subrogation) with a particular focus on airline catastrophe, coverage and multi-jurisdictional litigation. Sonia has advised airlines on the most complex PR sensitive claims and regulatory issues, latterly concerning issues arising from the global pandemic. She is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in French and can conduct claims in that language. Currently Sonia is currently involved in Commercial Court aviation coverage litigation following events arising from the invasion of Ukraine for major international aviation insurer clients. Sonia has 24 years’ experience in the aviation sector, having trained at Beaumont and Son, and latterly within the Aviation team at Clyde & Co LLP.
