Asema Natha
Asema is a Principal Associate in the Local Government team based in our Leicester office. Since qualifying as a solicitor 19 years ago, Asema has focused on delivering support to local authority clients. She joined Weightmans 17 years ago. Asema is regularly instructed in relation to flooding, subsidence and highway winter maintenance claims. She is also regularly instructed in relation to data loss and information management claims. Asema is also vastly experienced in advising clients in claims concerning public liability. This specialist support often includes complex, high value, multi-party litigation and Asema has significant experience of defending public liability claims on behalf of local authorities, education establishments and housing providers in relation to a wide range of issues. Her vast experience includes multi-party litigation arising out of newly designed shared space schemes, multi-party complex litigation arising out of a flooding incident affecting 33 properties. Reported cases include: Asema represented the Defendants in McDonald v Leicester City Council [2007], a highway winter maintenance claim.
