
Ian Alderson
Ian is a Partner in our housing and communities sector team. He is an experienced lawyer who takes a pragmatic approach enabling clients to resolve problems quickly and effectively. Ian handles contentious issues such as housing management, property and commercial disputes, landlord and tenant litigation (particularly residential), human rights cases and judicial review. He acts for clients in both the housing and private sectors. He prepares tenancy agreements and other documents and is an advocate of plain English in legal documents. He advises registered providers on governance issues and complaint handling. Ian has successfully litigated high profile cases in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal including Riverside Housing Association v White (2007) and Briscoe v Lubrizol Limited (2002) and frequently appears as an advocate in courts and tribunals.
