
Richard Hough
Richard is a Partner. He leads our commercial and IP team as well as our healthcare sector team. A commercial and healthcare regulatory lawyer, Richard advises clients on a broad range of commercial issues including terms of business, purchasing, supply, manufacturing, outsourcing, distribution, agency, franchising and joint venture agreements. He also provides broader business advice on issues such as data protection and e-commerce. In his role as sector leader, Richard sets our healthcare sector strategy, leads on solutions to the issues faced by our clients and develops our sector talent pool. Richard also works with international clients and UK businesses expanding abroad in his role as our primary contact for both the Association of European Lawyers and Eurolegal. Richard gained extensive experience as a pharmacist before entering the legal profession and is extremely well versed in healthcare regulatory issues. He established our healthcare team, which helps clients navigate the complexities of healthcare law, engage with regulatory bodies and protect their commercial interests. He advises businesses and professionals in the pharmacy market on acquisitions and disposals, NHS pharmacy contract applications, relocations, oppositions, appeals, healthcare regulation and fitness to practise cases. Partner at Brabners LLP who leads the Commercial & Intellectual Property team and the Healthcare sector team, advising on a wide range of commercial and healthcare regulatory matters including commercial contracts, data protection and e‑commerce. A former pharmacist, he established and leads the firm's healthcare team, advises pharmacy and veterinary product clients on regulatory, NHS pharmacy contract, acquisition/disposal and fitness to practise matters, and acts as the firm's primary contact for the Association of European Lawyers and Eurolegal on international expansion work.
