She has spent two separate stints in-house in lending institutions, and a few years working in private practice in Northern Ireland. Exposure to the demands on in-house lawyers and the intricacies of another jurisdiction have enabled her to become a versatile and commercial lawyer with a common-sense approach to transaction management. Having forged close relationships with a number of tenant representatives from the leading London agencies, she has a steady flow of instructions from corporate occupier clients relocating to new office premises. Her experience in-house means she is well placed to act on property finance matters on both borrower and lender side. In recent years, she has acted for new entrants to the UK real estate market and guided them through the jurisdictional nuances of investing in property in England. She has a wealth of experience acting for retail clients trading from out of town centres, and has advised them from the development stage of new premises through the whole life cycle to exit. Suzanne has experience advising charities on the compliance issues arising from the disposal and financing of their property interests. She also regularly forms part of a wider Bristows’ transaction team acting on the acquisition of spin out companies in the life sciences and technology sectors, and often supports these companies when they scale up their business requiring additional space. Suzanne’s work highlights include: Acting for an offshore investor acquiring a mixed-use asset in central London for £30m. Acting for a publishing house purchasing its first central London office premises. Advising a leading garden centre operator since 2012 on its acquisition and financing of several new sites around England and Wales and subsequent asset management issues. Advising a European bank on regearing its leasehold interest at its City HQ. Acting for a Middle Eastern bank on refinancing a residential portfolio in Battersea Power Station. Acting for a number of professional services firms securing new premises on a pre-let basis. Advising a pharmaceutical company on the disposal of a contaminated land site. Advising a research institute on the statutory compensation procedure under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. Advising charities on compliance issues arising from property disposals.
