Laurie Child

Laurie is Counsel in our Jersey Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and a member of our specialist Channel Islands Employment team. He advises on the full range of employment and discrimination law matters, including litigation claims, complex employee relations issues, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring projects. He has particular experience of collective or unionised employment issues, and contributes regularly to cross-border matters for clients operating globally. Laurie's work also includes advising on discrimination law matters arising outside of the employment relationship. This has included obtaining an order striking out a claim against a provider of occupational health services, and negotiating the mediated outcome of a claim relating to the provision of customer telephone banking services. Laurie advises on all areas of data protection law, and has acted in a number of competition/antitrust matters and contentious matters deriving from Jersey's financial services regulatory regime and tax information exchange legislation. · Mourant
