Sture Rygaard

Sture's primary practice area is patent law. He is a very experienced litigator and represents a number of pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device clients, as well as clients in the construction industry, tech/software, and agricultural sectors. Sture is a partner in Plesner's IP team. He represents clients in different IP matters, including trademarks, patents, designs, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights as well as IP contracts, transactions, strategy, and trademark litigation. Sture holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen and an LLM from the University of Cambridge (UK). He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Denmark and has been a member of the board of the European Patent Lawyer's Association (EPLAW) from 2017 to 2023 (maximum term), and he was president from 2022 to 2023. He is also Vice President of the Danish AIPPI Group. Sture is co-author of a comprehensive book on the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and a number of other IP publications, and he regularly lectures at seminars and conferences. Plesner has Denmark's strongest IP team and has been a powerhouse in IP and life science law for decades.
