
Elaine Long
Elaine Long is a partner in Matheson’s Financial Institutions Group. She provides specialist advice in connection with corporate and regulatory issues for financial institutions with a particular focus on insurance. Elaine has extensive experience in advising on business transfers and amalgamations involving insurers. She also regularly advises insurers and other financial institutions on the regulatory aspects of establishment and authorisation, corporate governance and re-organisations. Elaine joined Matheson in 2006. Prior to joining the Financial Institutions Group, Elaine worked in the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Group in Matheson, where she advised on contentious and non-contentious corporate insolvency matters. During her time in Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Elaine regularly advised financial institutions on insolvency proceedings, the enforceability of set-off rights and the invalidation of security following insolvency.
