
Jorrit van der Weide
Jorrit van der Weide was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2001 and joined Pels Rijcken in 2007. Jorrit advises and litigates on civil law issues, specialising in insolvency law. He represents public authorities and semi-public organisations that have their own interests in respect of (imminent) bankruptcies, such as continuity of service provisions in the healthcare or the education sector, or environmental issues in bankruptcies. Jorrit also regularly acts for other parties involved in insolvency, such as creditors, directors, shareholders and parties interested in a restart. Jorrit regularly negotiates with bankruptcy trustees and is thoroughly familiar with their position and interests they represent. If necessary, Jorrit will take legal action against trustees. He also advises and litigates in the areas of directors’ liability and financing and securities, and regularly advises companies in the US and the UK. Jorrit obtained his master’s degree in Dutch Civil Law from the University of Amsterdam and completed the Grotius programme in Insolvency Law in 2008 and the Grotius programme in Financial Economics for Trustees in 2013. · Pels Rijcken
