Alexander Plows

Partner. Alex is a partner in the firm’s insurance team and assists insurers and reinsurers on a range of issues from claims and coverage disputes to regulatory issues and the development of policy wordings. His expertise includes assisting insurers on a variety of insurance products including financial lines, professional liability (including FIPI), directors’ and officers’ liability, comprehensive crime, warranty and indemnity and cyber insurances. He has assisted insurers and reinsurers in resolving some of Norway’s largest insurance and reinsurance claims in recent years. Alex has extensive experience of dispute resolution and frequently represents insurers and reinsurers in complex and often multi-jurisdictional arbitrations and litigations. He has also acted for banks and financial institutions, energy and oil and gas companies in arbitrations under a variety of institutional rules as well as domestic, ad hoc arbitrations and in court proceedings. He is frequently asked to act as an arbitrator. Alex is ranked as a Leading Individual in insurance by the Legal 500 and for dispute resolution by Chambers Global as a foreign law expert.
