Jan has been a lawyer in government practice for over 25 years. He is a true administrative law litigator. Jan assists governments, companies and institutions in administrative law cases on various subjects. A passionate lawyer who knows how to make connections between different areas of law, is authoritative and very experienced. He writes in legal journals and is one of the authors of “Tekst en Commentaar Wet open overheid” (text and commentary on the Open Government Act). Jan was for many years chairman of the Objections Committee of the municipality of Leiden and deputy judge in the District Court of Gelderland.
