Lorraine Smyth is a Partner in Byrne Wallace Shields LLP's Employment team; she joined the firm in 2000 after several years in the insurance industry. She has extensive contentious and non-contentious employment law experience—with particular expertise in change management, business transfers, outsourcing, restructuring and redundancy (including collective redundancies), restraint of trade litigation and employment-related data protection—and regularly speaks and provides in-house training; she co-authored the Law Society's e-book on Employment Law, has lectured on the Law Society Professional Practice Course, and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
