Susan started her career in 1998 as a legal adviser within the Corporate Secretaries Department of Unilever N.V. in Rotterdam. She then moved to private practice with (the predecessor of) HVG Law in Eindhoven and was involved in many regional M&A transactions and also gained expertise in insolvency law and (corporate) labour law issues. In 2001, Susan worked for the Dutch Legal Desk of HVG Law in New York at Donahue & Partners on cross-border corporate transactions.
