Maria specialises in public international law and international dispute settlement, including international arbitration. She has considerable experience of investment treaty arbitration, human-rights related dispute settlement and national litigation related to sovereign disputes, such as post-award proceedings related to investment awards and sovereign immunity from jurisdiction and execution. She also advices corporate entities on ESG-related issues and human rights due diligence. She accepts arbitrator appointments in investment and commercial arbitration and is listed by the EU as suitable for arbitral appointments in bilateral trade disputes.
