Partner in the tax litigation area at Machado Associados in Brazil, Daniel Lacasa Maya is specialized in judicial and administrative tax litigation at federal, state and municipal levels and has presented oral arguments before the Federal Supreme Court, the Superior Court of Justice, CARF and other high courts. He is a postgraduate professor in tax law at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and Instituto Internacional de Ciências Sociais, joined Machado Associados in 1993, and has been recognised by Tax Controversy Leaders (2011–2017) and The Legal 500 Latin America (2012–2014).
