Liese Kuyken is a Senior Associate in Lydian's Commercial & Litigation department, where she is part of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the Information Governance & Data Protection (Privacy), and the Intellectual Property (IP) practices. Liese's practice focuses on Data Protection (Privacy) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Liese regularly assists clients in data protection matters, including with respect to processing agreements, privacy and cookie policies and data subjects' rights. Moreover, she specializes in privacy issues in both a national and international context (GDPR compliance, drafting and review of controller and processor agreements, binding corporate rules, etc.). Lionel joined Baker McKenzie as customs lead in February 2022. He has over 23 years of experience in the field of customs, international trade, excises and energy levy. Lionel is lecturer at the UIA (Antwerp) and ULG (Liege). He is in charge of the customs, excises and international trade course at the Solvay Tax MBA. In 2023, Lionel was appointed by the Global ICC board as Chair of the ICC Global Customs Valuation Working Group. Lionel is also chairing the Indirect Taxes subcommittee of AMCHAM BE. Lionel's Indirect Tax practice team has been recognized as Tier 1 Indirect Tax Team in Belgium by ITR World Tax. Lionel focuses mainly on Trade & Customs transformation initiatives, Trade & Customs essentials, Trade & Customs processes optimization, Trade & Customs Strategy & Governance and Trade & Customs compliance. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of export control and sanctions, and in assisting companies in reviewing and managing their export control compliance monitoring system. Lisa is an associate in the Privacy and Tech & Comms teams in Belgium. Her work covers topics ranging from data protection and the EU's new digital legislation to cybersecurity, regulatory advice on telecommunications and the review of IT contracts. Working in data and technology-related legal matters provides an exciting combination: defending interests at the heart of our clients' businesses and being afforded the opportunity to work in a fast-evolving field. Here at Bird & Bird, Lisa practices both in an advisory and contentious capacity, mainly for clients from the technology, communications, hospitality, retail, biomedical and sports sectors. Louisa began her career at NautaDutilh, where she worked from 2017 until joining Quinz in June 2025.
