She advises multinationals on the full spectrum of corporate and international tax matters relevant to their Greek business, involving entry in the market/set up guidance, financing, operation, restructuring or exit of their Greek subsidiaries. Maria commonly advises clients on tax compliance aspects, assisting them determine tax risks and remediation measures and is handling corporate and international tax disputes. Maria is also active in M&As, assisting clients with tax due diligence, negotiations and structuring of transactions. She also specialises in energy taxation and has extensive experience in tax matters relevant to the acquisition, sales and generally restructurings of businesses active in the energy industry. She was admitted to the Athens Bar in 1999 and joined our firm in 1998. Maria is a member of the firm’s executive committee.

Senior Associate Maria-Roxani regularly advises on Capital Markets, Finance and Banking matters. Her core practice areas are debt and equity issuances and public offerings, structured finance and securitizations, secured finance (loans/collateral packages over all types of assets), public and private M&A (including takeover regulations) and securities regulatory (including the rules on listing, investment, trading, prospectus, transparency and market abuse). In Luxembourg and Frankfurt, Maria-Roxani gained understanding of funds (UCITS, AIFs), central securities depositories and banking regulation. Maria-Roxani supports issuers, underwriters, lenders and agents in bond offerings and bond restructurings (including high yield), securitizations, secured financings and re-financings, as well as distressed and leveraged finance deals (including term loans and PIK loans). She assisted some of the world’s leading credit institutions (including a leading Spanish consumer bank), investment firms, funds and asset managers, as well as corporates (including one of the largest providers of ground and cargo services in the aviation industry) in closing a number of high-profile, cross-border deals. Drawing on her international experience, Maria-Roxani ensures seamless coordination, getting deals through in complex, multijurisdictional settings. She speaks Greek, English, French and German. Early on in her career, Maria-Roxani carried out her training at an Athens-based law firm and the European Court of Justice. Before joining the firm, Maria-Roxani was an Associate (International Debt Capital Markets) at the Luxembourg office of the leading US law firm, Hogan Lovells. Maria - Roxani has been ranked as a Rising Star Lawyer by the IFLR1000 2025 Guide.

Partner Marina is an expert in EU, competition and antitrust law. She joined the Firm in 1997 and advises national and international clients on antitrust, merger control and State aid issues, with substantial experience in cross-border and cross-section transactions, risk and strategy assessment and regulatory compliance. Her work includes FSR and FDI screening advice. Marina has extensive experience in successfully representing clients across various industries in alleged cartel and abuse of dominance cases before the Hellenic Competition Commission. She also has considerable expertise in merger cases and has effectively coordinated multi-jurisdictional filings and obtained clearance for high-profile M&A transactions from the Hellenic Competition Commission and the European Commission in a wide range of industry specialisations. Marina has an expertise in assessing commercial agreements and policies for their compliance with competition law and also provides on-site assistance and practical guidance in dealing with dawn raids. Marina has significant experience in advising clients on emerging and existing data protection requirements, including identifying gaps and areas of potential infringement of data protection laws, supporting clients on employment related privacy matters and advising on internal investigation procedures and data breach incidents. Marina also supports clients in relation to compliance with international sanctions regimes. Her work includes advising on sanctions monitoring and reporting requirements and the design and implementation of compliance programs, as well as assisting clients to obtain authorization from national authorities and liaising with the regulators.
