Riza Ismail is counsel in the Banking and Finance practice in Dentons' Muscat office. She has over 20 years' experience working on a wide range of banking and finance matters, with particular emphasis on Islamic finance, capital markets (local and international bonds and Sukuk issuances), project finance, corporate banking (bilateral and syndicated loans) and investment funds. Her experience from previous firms includes being directly involved and responsible for groundbreaking and award-winning Islamic finance transactions in Oman, including the debut Oman sovereign Sukuk issue, the first dual currency Sukuk issuance in Oman under the Oman Sukuk Regulation and the establishment and issuance of Sukuk under the first retail Sukuk program in Oman. She also acted on major project finance transactions such as Ibri/Sohar 3 IPP, Salalah II IPP, Ghubrah IWP and the recent financing of the largest shrimp farm in Oman and the first PPP project in Oman. Riza is recognized as the "Next Generation Partner" by The Legal 500 in the 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 guides for banking and finance.
