The original firm was founded in 1950 by Dr. Miguel Barrero Barrientos in Sucre, Bolivia — the constitutional capital and seat of the Judicial Branch — where the offices on Calle Abaroa continue to operate. Its legacy also includes Dr. Rafael Barrero Martínez, who established practice in La Paz in 1977. Both founders held senior governmental and judicial positions within the Republic of Bolivia.
