Claudio is a partner with over 26 years' worth of experience in EU regulatory law with an emphasis on chemicals, pesticides and biocides, as well as other regulated consumer, professional and industrial goods. Claudio's practice focuses on EU regulatory law with an emphasis on chemicals (REACH/CLP), pesticides and biocides, as well as other related regulated sectors (cosmetics, medical devices, f-Gas, etc.). Claudio's expertise covers all aspects of product regulations and restrictions under, including notification, registration, exemptions/derogations, mutual recognition, classification & labelling, marketing and use restrictions, parallel imports, environmental liability, product recalls and scientific data compensation negotiations, among others. Claudio has been involved in large chemical defence projects, such as chromium trioxide and PFAS under the REACH Regulation. Claudio's activity can be divided into three main streams: advisory, advocacy and litigation, at both EU and national levels. This includes assisting clients in navigating the EU regulatory landscape, policies and compliance requirements across various sectors, as well as litigation at EU and national levels against administrative decisions from EU Institutions/agencies and local authorities. Clément Bouvarel is a partner in Gide's International Trade and Regulatory team in Brussels. He specialises in trade defence instruments – anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, safeguards – in Europe and third countries (China, Turkey, Canada, the Gulf States, Morocco, and others) and in European and WTO law. Clément assists clients in the European steel, manufacturing, metallurgical products and agricultural products industries to counter unfair imports. Dr. Cyril-Igor Grigorieff is a member of the Brussels bar since 2006 and a former member of the Paris bar. He holds the title of accredited Transport Law Specialist, granted by the Brussels and Belgian bar authorities. Cyril-Igor gained experience in matters relating to liability in a multi-jurisdictional environment, in European Union regulatory affairs and in aircraft finance in the course of his career in international law firms. He has also gained inside knowledge working on a secondment basis for an airline. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of air law. Notably, he has been one of the named contributors to the Belgian Transportation Code since 2010, and the co-editor of the first law book in French on aircraft finance (Le droit du financement des aéronefs, Bruylant, 2017). In 2021, he successfully defended his PhD study on international air law at Leiden University (Uniformity and Fragmentation of the 1999 Montreal Convention on International Air Carrier Liability, Kluwer, 2022) for which he received the best PhD award by the Air and Space Academy. Next to his practice, Cyril-Igor teaches air law, transportation law, and insurance law in various universities including Paris-Saclay University (No 1 in the EU – Shanghai Ranking) and Université Libre de Bruxelles. Partner Céline Masschelein joined Janson as a partner in March 2016, after having been Counsel in the Litigation & Arbitration department of Allen & Overy. Céline has a special focus on white collar crime (such as imputations of fraud, forgery, corruption, money laundering, bankruptcy offences) on the one hand and all forms of corporate litigation on the other hand (such as post-acquisition disputes and all possible disputes between (and liabilities of) shareholders, board directors, auditors and other corporate actors). Céline has more than 20 years of experience in dealing with complex national and international disputes in both business and financial criminal law, with specific expertise in the interaction between the two areas.
