As former Secrétaire de la Conférence des avocats du Barreau de Paris (a two-hundred-year-old institution which elects each year, by means of a public speaking competition, 12 lawyers who will be court-appointed in the most complex and serious criminal matters) Xavier gained a valuable in-depth knowledge of courts, judges and prosecutors as well as procedural technicalities to be envisaged for each specific case. Before joining Bird & Bird, he worked 10 years at Tier-1 law firms specializing in Tech-oriented disputes and white-collar crime.

Xinyu Hu joined CMS Francis Lefebvre in 2018 and became a partner in 2024. He is head of the firm's China Desk.
