Selman Ansari is a regulatory and public policy lawyer, specialising in competition law and data protection. He relocated from London to the Middle East in 2018. He advises corporates, government departments, state owned enterprises and private equity investors on: public policy, merger control, the full spectrum of competition law issues (including abuse of dominance and distribution/vertical agreements), data protection, cybersecurity (including data localisation issues and on the implementation of global data privacy compliance programmes) and AI regulation. He has particular experience in bringing international solutions to merger control, antitrust, data protection and AI regulatory issues arising in the Middle Eastern context. Selman was previously at a magic circle firm in the Middle East and, prior to that, a partner in a leading public law firm in London.
