Lisa joined Weightmans in 2001 and has been a Legal Director since 2022. Lisa has practised in the personal injury field throughout her 30 year career and currently specialises in the defence of all types of occupational induced disease claims, especially high value complex asbestos related conditions but handles disease claims of all types, lung cancer, skin cancer, sensitisation, occupational asthma, dermatitis. She was involved in Heneghan V Manchester Dry Docks [2016] EWCA Civ 86 establishing the test for causation in divisible disease conditions and provides strategic advice for insurers in relation to all issues on liability, causation, contribution, and public liability claims. Lisa has extensive experience in high value catastrophic injury claims as well as physical conditions such as chronic pain, psychological injury and stress at work and has had experience in handling class actions. Lisa has several nominated clients for whom she provides bespoke strategic advice and support for the defendant organisation and their insurers having considerable experience in relation to work related employer and public liability claims and attending quarterly claims review meetings for all nominated clients.
