Annelies van der Ploeg

Annelies heads BarentsKrans Commercial Contracts team. She specialises in national and international commercial contract law and liability law with a focus on drafting and reviewing supply and purchase agreements (including standard documentation), (cross-border) distribution, franchise and agency agreements and general terms and conditions. She furthermore advises both national and international clients on issues relating to e-commerce (including the use of general terms and conditions in B2B or B2C legal relationships), consumer law and international private law. Annelies is also a highly experienced litigation lawyer. She represents large Dutch and international companies in complex liability issues, post-M&A disputes and disputes on matters such as nonconformity and warranty claims, termination of long-term commercial contracts and the interpretation of contractual clauses. Arno Voerman

Arno is part of the Banking & Finance practice group and specialises in FinTech & Payments. With his expertise in financial law, he focuses mainly on strategic projects, such as market entry, product launches, partnerships, investments and acquisitions in the financial sector. As such, he has extensive experience in applying for licences from the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). His in-depth knowledge of and passion for his field have resulted in several publications in the area of FinTech & Payments. Caroline van Gent

Caroline specializes in employment law and civil service law. She has extensive experience on advising companies and individuals on labour law issues, conducting negotiations and litigating when appropriate. She makes assessments of and gives advice on (changes in) employment conditions and non-standard contractual provisions, such a non-compete clauses. On the area of public servants law, Caroline gives advice, conducts negotiations and litigates on a wide range of matters on behalf of (semi-) public administrative bodies and (semi-) public servants. Frank Dekker

Harry Rek

Harry has extensive experience with complex international transactions, often a combination of M&A and strategic commercial contracts. He led transactions in the Dutch telecoms, energy and waste management markets, and in and outside the Netherlands for IT and media companies, as well as hotel transactions. In the Dutch market he is also active in private equity transactions, from small investments in innovative companies to complex exit transactions. He also advises start-ups and young businesses on their structure and commercial contracts, and more established companies on their corporate governance. Ingrid Reimert

Ingrid Reimert has been a member of BarentsKrans’ Real Estate practice group since 2009. She advises and litigates mainly on commercial contract law matters. Ingrid drafts and reviews many types of contracts, such as leases, purchase agreements, assignment agreements and contracts for services. Ingrid her clients are among other things active within the retail sector, hospitality, telecom, sustainable energy, parking, transport, cultural sector, real estate investments and expat housing. She has outstanding expertise on tenancy law involving both commercial and private property. Jaap Bremer

The focus of Jaap’s practice is litigation in disputes concerning infringement and validity of patents and other intellectual property rights, in particular for clients from the pharma and biotech, nutrition and consumer products industries. Jaap has acted before various courts and tribunals and the Supreme Court, as well as before the European Patent Office, the EUIPO and the Advertising Code Committee. Jaap is also a UPC representative and therefore authorised to litigate before the Unified Patent Court. Jaap also advises on the protection of trade secrets and the strategic use and exploitation of IP rights, and he assists in drafting and negotiating cooperation/joint development and R&D agreements and licensing contracts, among others. Jeffrey Koenecke

Jeffrey has over 20 years of notarial experience in commercial real estate. Jeffrey and his team guide commercial real estate transactions ranging from portefeuilles to hotels. In addition, he has special expertise in the establishment of real rights (ground lease, easements etcetera) and complex developments, combined with financing. Jesse Zijlma

Jesse has been a lawyer in BarentsKrans’ wide-ranging Real Estate practice group since 2004. He mainly represents housing associations, commercial landlords and ESCOs in the development and exploitation of real estate, and not only in disputes. This means that Jesse has ample experience in problems involving rent and service costs, purchase and sale of portfolios, and drafting cooperation agreements and performance contracts. Jesse has special expertise in the area of legal structuring (e.g. for ownership issues and collateral) in relation to sustainable energy projects such as the installation and operation of heating systems and ground energy systems such as heat/cold storage and the use of solar energy systems in existing real estate. Jesse regularly gives training courses on legal aspects of sustainable energy, such as the Dutch Heating Supply Act (Warmtewet), ESCOs and energy performance contracts. Joost Fanoy

Joost Fanoy is head of the EU & Competition practice group and a member head of the Cartel Damages team of BarentsKrans. He specialises in European law in general with a particular focus on European and Dutch competition, public procurement and state aid law and has considerable experience in assisting companies with European and Dutch cartel and state aid proceedings as well as merger and joint venture filings with the Dutch Competition Authority (ACM) and the European Commission. Furthermore, Joost consults and litigates extensively in cartel damages cases and on behalf of both contracting parties and contracting authorities in public procurement matters. In addition, Joost has ample experience in assisting companies when reporting mergers, acquisitions and cooperation agreements to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the European Commission. Philip Fruytier

Philip is a partner in BarentsKrans’s Supreme Court department, specialising in civil Supreme Court litigation. Both national and international clients have been trusting in him for years with complex civil procedures. Acting as a Supreme Court attorney for, among others, real estate developers and investors, insurance companies, government authorities and international organisations, Philip has been handling complex matters for clients for many years.
