Contract Templates is LinkinLegal's library of vetted contract templates. Find one by keyword or category, preview it, then open it beside Alaya to ask about its clauses or check your own documents against it.

How to use Contract Templates
Each step shows the real screen. Hover a numbered marker — or the matching note — to see what every control does.
Find a template
Click Contract Templates in the top bar and type what you need into the search box. Results refresh when you pause, and more load on their own as you scroll.
- Each result shows its jurisdiction and category under the title.
- Your search stays in the page address, so you can save it in your browser or send it to a colleague.

Filter by category
Click Categories, tick the categories you want and click Apply filters. The list updates, and each category appears as a chip under the search bar.
- Search inside the list to find a category quickly; Select All ticks everything shown.
- Clear filters unticks every category in one go.

Tip: To drop a category, untick it in the Categories list and apply again. Removing only the chip leaves it ticked there.
Preview before you open
Hover a template and click the eye icon to read it in a dialog. Move through the pages or zoom in, then close the preview and click the title to open the template with Alaya.
- The share icon next to Preview copies a link to the template.
- Clicking a title opens the template in a new tab.

Ask Alaya about the template
The template fills the left of the screen and Alaya sits on the right, ready to answer questions about it. Ask what a clause means, what's missing or how long an obligation lasts.
- Numbered citations point to the clauses an answer relies on; the sources chip lists them.
- The document opens in an editor, but changes you make there aren't saved.
- Hover an answer to copy it or download it as a Word file.

Tip: Press Ctrl+K to jump to the message box from anywhere on the page.
Check your own documents against it
Click Run check and choose Compliance or Guidelines. Tick the files or folders from your Vault that you want to check, then run the check; Alaya posts the result in the chat.
- The picker lists your Vault's pinned folders, such as Guidelines and Chat uploads.
- Both options open the same file picker, and the chat waits until the check finishes.

Tip: Keep playbooks and drafts you check often in your Vault's Guidelines folder, so they're always in the picker.
Share, save or export
Open the three-dot menu in the chat header. From here you can share the template with your conversation, keep a copy in your Vault, export the chat or start over.
- Your conversation stays with the template; Contract Chat History takes you back to it.
- Reset Chat asks you to confirm, then moves the old messages to View Archive.

Tips for getting it right
Edits in the viewer aren't saved
The template opens in an editor, but changes aren't kept. Save a copy to your Vault and download it to work on your own version.
Change categories in the list
Removing a chip doesn't untick its category, so the next Apply brings it back. Untick it in Categories, or use Clear filters.
Categories reset when you reload
Your search stays in the page address, but category filters don't. Apply them again after a reload.
Keep files to check in a pinned folder
Run check lists your Vault's pinned folders, such as Guidelines and Chat uploads. Put the documents you want to check there first.
Reset the chat before you share
Share Chat includes your current conversation, and links can't be withdrawn. Reset Chat first if it's private.
Scroll for more
Results load in batches of 100 as you scroll, so there are no pages to click through.
Statuses you'll see
Work that runs in the background always shows where it stands — here is what each label means.
- Loading more…The next batch of templates is loading as you scroll.
- Alaya is readingAlaya is working on an answer about this template.
- Running compliance check...Alaya is checking the files you picked. The chat waits until the check finishes.
- compliance check completedThe result has been added to the chat.
- Failed to run compliance checkThe check didn't finish. Try running it again.
- Share link copied to clipboardPaste the link anywhere. It opens the template for 24 hours.
Templates open for reading and for discussion with Alaya. Edits made in the viewer aren't saved, and direct download is limited to administrators. To work on your own version, use Add to Dashboard in the chat's three-dot menu to copy the template into your Vault, then download it from there.
It checks documents you pick from your Vault against the open template, and Alaya posts the result in the chat. Choose Compliance or Guidelines from the Run check menu; both open the same file picker.
Files in your Vault's pinned folders, such as Personal Law Library, Templates, Guidelines, Court Transcripts and Chat uploads. Upload or move a document into one of them first. Guidelines is a good home for playbooks and policies.
There's no country filter on this page. Each result shows the template's jurisdiction under its title, and in the viewer Set scope tells Alaya which country you're working in.
A read-only page with the template and your current conversation about it. Anyone with the link can open it without an account for 24 hours. Links can't be withdrawn, so reset private chats before sharing.
Click the History button next to Categories. Contract Chat History lists each template you've chatted with, the date of your last chat and the number of messages. Reopening a template picks up where you left off.
