What Law Firm Directory is for
The Law Firm Directory is LinkinLegal's searchable list of lawyers and law firms. Narrow it by practice area, country and city, open a profile and contact counsel directly. If you run a firm, My Firm is where you keep your own listing — profile, offices and lawyers — up to date.
Who it's for
In-house counsel and business teams
Find outside counsel for a new market or matter and contact them straight from their profile.
Law firm owners and marketing teams
Keep the firm's listing — profile, office locations and lawyers — complete and current in My Firm.
What it solves
Finding counsel in another jurisdiction
Filter lawyers and firms by practice area, country and city instead of piecing together web searches and referrals.
Comparing firms before you call
See each firm's countries, team size and locations side by side, then open the office and the people that matter to you.
Keeping your own listing accurate
Firm owners update their profile, offices and lawyers themselves, so clients see current details and the right contacts.
How to use Law Firm Directory
Each step shows the real screen. Hover a numbered marker — or the matching note — to see what every control does.
Open the directory
Click Law Firm Directory in the top navigation. Find legal counsel opens on the Lawyers tab, sorted by name — switch to Law firms to browse whole firms instead.
- Open to anyone signed in with a LinkinLegal app plan.
- Results come 24 to a page, with page numbers at the bottom.

Narrow the list with filters
Type a name, or pick a practice area, a country and a city. The list and the count update as you go, and the sort switches between Name A–Z and Z–A.
- City unlocks once you choose a country, and changing the country clears it.
- Every filter is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a search or send it to a colleague.
- No matches? Clear all filters starts over.

Tip: Use your browser's Back button to return to a filtered list. Back to directory on a profile starts a fresh search.
Open a firm's profile
Click View firm, or a row in Table view. The firm page shows its countries, offices, team size and founding year, with About and Lawyers tabs and a Get in touch card.
- Pick a location to see that office's addresses, phone numbers, emails and team.
- The Lawyers tab lists the team in seniority order and can be filtered by practice area.

Get in touch with a lawyer
A lawyer's profile covers their role, practice areas, jurisdictions, expertise, education and languages. Use the buttons in the header or the Get in touch card to reach them.
- Email opens your own mail app with their address filled in; Call opens a phone link.
- A location card opens the firm page at that office.

Keep your firm's profile current
If you run a firm, open My Firm. Firm profile holds what clients see — name, description, year founded, practice areas, logo and contact details — and one Save changes saves all of it.
- My Firm needs the Law Firm Listing module, and your account must be linked to your firm — ask LinkinLegal to link your firm.
- Only the firm name is required. Website and email warnings don't block saving.
- A new logo is kept only once you click Save changes.

Add office locations and lawyers
Under Locations, choose Add location, pick the country, then add an office for each city with its phones, emails and address. Under Lawyers, choose Add lawyer for each person clients should find.
- A lawyer needs only a full name; title, seniority, office, contact details, practice areas, expertise, languages, education and admissions are optional.
- Removing a location or lawyer is immediate — use Undo on the message that follows.

Tip: A location's lawyer count is the number you type, not a count of the lawyers you add. Update it when your team changes.
Step 01 / 06
Everything Law Firm Directory can do
The building blocks behind the walkthrough, and what each one does for you.
Search lawyers and firms
Filter by practice area, country and city, search by name and sort A–Z. Results come 24 to a page, as cards or a table.
Profiles worth reading
Lawyer profiles cover practice areas, jurisdictions, expertise, education, admissions and languages.
Firms by location
Switch a firm page to any office to see its addresses, contacts and team.
Contact counsel directly
Email, call or visit the website from any profile — you reach them yourself.
Searches you can share
Tab, filters, sort, view and page live in the address, so a link reopens the same list.
Your firm's listing
In My Firm, keep your name, description, logo, practice areas and contact details current.
Offices and lawyers
Add a location per country and an office per city, then the lawyers clients should find.
Profile strength
Eleven checks, from a logo to your first lawyer, with the next to-dos listed under the score.
Tips for getting it right
Share a search as a link
The page address keeps the tab, filters, sort, view and page. Copy it to send a colleague the same shortlist.
Go back without losing filters
Use your browser's Back button to return to your results. Back to directory on a profile starts a fresh search.
Choose a country before a city
City stays locked until you pick a country, and changing the country clears the city.
Save after a new logo
One Save changes covers the whole firm profile, and a newly uploaded logo isn't kept until you click it.
Undo straight away
Removing a location or lawyer happens without a confirmation step. Use Undo on the message — a restored lawyer needs their photo uploaded again.
Jurisdictions follow your locations
The “Add jurisdictions” to-do in Profile strength clears once you've added a location and refreshed the page.
Statuses you'll see
Work that runs in the background always shows where it stands — here is what each label means.
- Loading…Results are loading. The count shows the number of matches once they arrive.
- Uploading…A logo or photo is uploading. A new logo is kept only when you click Save changes.
- Saving…Your firm profile changes are being saved.
- SavedYour changes are saved, confirmed by a Changes saved message.
- Fix errorsThe firm name is empty. Add it, then save again.
Anyone signed in to LinkinLegal with an app plan — open Law Firm Directory in the top navigation. Accounts that only have a firm listing manage My Firm but don't get the in-app directory. LinkinLegal's website also has a public directory that anyone can browse.
Open their profile and use Email, Call or Website, or the buttons in the Get in touch card. Email opens your own mail app with their address filled in, so you contact them directly.
My Firm needs the Law Firm Listing module, and LinkinLegal has to link your account to your firm's directory entry — there's no self-serve claim. Ask LinkinLegal to link your firm; until then, My Firm shows “No firm linked to your account”.
LinkinLegal compiles listings from publicly available information, such as firm websites, and firm owners keep their own listing current in My Firm.
Eleven checks: firm name, description, year founded, logo, practice areas, jurisdictions, website, email, phone, at least one office location and at least one lawyer. Up to four missing items are listed under the score.
Social links are saved with your profile but aren't shown on directory profiles, and the HQ badge on a location can't be changed in My Firm — ask LinkinLegal if it needs correcting.
