His recent experience includes various carbon capture, usage and storage projects, onshore and offshore wind projects (including drafting corporate PPAs), and wind, solar and power plant transactions, as well as advising on contractual, regulatory and strategic aspects relating to a wide variety of hydrogen projects. Jaap holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge and is finalising his doctoral research on certain legal aspects relating to the financing and ownership of offshore energy projects, such as floating and fixed offshore wind farms, oil and gas projects, carbon capture and storage projects, and floating and fixed 'energy islands'. He regularly publishes in leading Dutch and international journals on a wide variety of subjects, including energy projects and energy transition, regulatory matters, project finance, and competition law. Jaap has presented his research at Dutch and international conferences, including one organised by the University of Oxford.
