He is also an experienced litigator with several cases before the EFTA Court, the Court of Justice of the EU and before Norwegian courts at all levels. He is also admitted to the Supreme Court of Norway. The last twelve years before joining Wikborg Rein, Torje worked as a lawyer at the Office of the Attorney General (Regjeringsadvokaten). During those years, he handled approximately 100 major advisory cases and 250 court cases for different government ministries and agencies. Many of these cases concerned public procurement, state aid, and EEA law. However, Torje also has extensive experience in contract and administrative law. He was head in charge for the field of commercial law in the Office of the Attorney General for several years, which involved providing advice and litigation related to market regulation and major public contracts. Furthermore, Torje has valuable work experience from previous positions. He has worked, among other places, at EFTA Surveillance Authority and has a good knowledge of that organisation. He has also served as deputy judge in Norway and has worked in the Legislation Department in the Ministry of Justice (Lovavdelingen). In the Legislation Department, he was responsible for the field of EU/EEA law and assisted government bodies with legal opinions related to public law and EEA law. Regularly, Torje also gives lectures and has authored several books and articles on the topic of EU/EEA law.
